A distinguished Hair Transplant Surgeon with over 18 years of experience in hair restoration, our Oceanside, CA surgeon embarked on a journey that led him to excellence. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative Biology at the University of California at Berkeley, followed by a Medical Degree from New York Medical College. Subsequently, he pursued a Surgical Internship and Residency at St. Mary’s Hospital – Yale University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Surgical Resident.

Choosing to specialize in plastic and cosmetic surgery, he attended a Plastic Surgery Residency at The University of Texas at San Antonio, TX, and later a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Chao discovered his affinity for hair transplant surgery due to his unique background in general surgery and plastic and cosmetic surgery, leading him to devote 100% of his time to this field.

Following an initial hair transplantation fellowship, he honed his skills in advanced hair transplantation techniques at a prestigious clinic in Beverly Hills, CA. A member of the International Society of Hair Restoration (ISHRS), Dr. Chao has garnered recognition as one of the Top 10 Hair Transplant Surgeons in California by the American Institute of Plastic Surgeons. This accolade reflects his exceptional professional achievement, unwavering patient satisfaction, top ratings by both patients and peers, and leadership in the industry.
